Mahe Zehra Husain participated in a seminar “Pakistan’s Womenomic Revolution and Role & Opportunities for Women In Industry” by the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade as a speaker to talk about challenges and opportunities for women of Pakistan to contribute to the national economy.
The agenda of this seminar was to discuss the ideas for women empowerment in Pakistan. 49% of Pakistan’s population is women and only 0.9% are involved in entrepreneurial employee activity. The seminar highlighted the possibilities for women to participate in economic development and GDP.
While presenting to the audience Mahe Zehra Husain said, “We have a lot of talent, young women are creating a lot of beautiful things, the problem comes with their branding and marketing, and they don’t know where to sell.”
She added, “Being a technology company, we’ve created a platform named PakistanCreates that offers free online shops to young entrepreneurs of Pakistan as long as they are creating or manufacturing products in Pakistan. They can get a free e-store to sell products online for free and we will help them in branding and marketing.”
She further said, “The platform will generate income for young women. With income in their hands, they can educate themselves and their family more. I feel that in my ideal world, education is the solution to all problems. The women who don’t have enough capital to make something or create their own website, or e-store, or to learn about digital marketing, this is where we help them. We are doing it all for free, no commission, no fee, nothing at all!”
