My inspiration behind this breathtaking scene was its sea green waves, crashing smoothly against the golden sands of the shore creating soft surf. Moreover, the fresh blue sky with the soft wool-like clouds emerging from the horizon and spreading across the reflection of warm yellowish-pink sunlight took me back to some wonderful memories of my visit to the Gdansk, Seaport in Poland.

It was an utter pleasure to paint this big-size oil painting as it brought back some wonderful memories of my visit to beautiful Poland. The clear blue skies and lovely seasides over there left a strong impact on my mind and while I was painting I felt as if I was reliving those memories. As nature has its healing effect on one’s heart, I enjoyed reflecting upon those memories and portraying them in the form of this scene with scattered heavenly clouds. The sunlight falling on the clouds created an amazing blend of warm yellow and pinkish-purple colours and its reflection could be seen in the deep waters.

This painting is special as it took me a considerable time to create depth in the sea. The different kinds of waves need different kinds of brush strokes, as some were smooth while others were rising and creating splashes while crossing boulders or elevated parts of the land on the shore. The seashore has some rugged dark greenish-brown boulders with their shadows falling on the ground.
